If you are interested in becoming a member of the Calvary Baptist Family, you are encouraged to make an appointment to meet with Pastor Kirk or the Shepherd Leaders. This gives an opportunity to learn more about Calvary and to ask any questions you may have.
After this initial interview, prospective members are required to attend a Discover Calvary New Member Luncheon. These luncheons are scheduled several times each year and take place immediately following the Sunday morning service.
A person may join the church in the following ways:
- By profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through believer’s baptism.
- By promise of a letter of recommendation from another Baptist church of like faith and practice.
- By statement of faith. “I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I have been baptized as a believer by immersion in another church of like faith and practice.”
- By Watch Care. When a college student joins our church by Watch Care they do not give up their membership in their home church, they are simply declaring their commitment to Calvary Baptist Church while they are a student. The Watch Care ministry provides a way for college students who temporarily live in the area to become part of a local fellowship without moving their church membership from their home church. We want to be their church home while they are away from home.
